Houseparents Needed

June 1st, 2008

After five years of dedicated and faithful service as houseparents, Ken and Rose Solberg are resigning from their responsibilities and returning to Wisconsin to be close to their family again. They’re planning to spend the summer at their cabin on the lake and to get reacquainted with their grandchildren.

The Solbergs have been model houseparents and a tremendous blessing during their tenure here in Tupelo. They have been “mom” and “dad” to some very special boys, and they will certainly be missed, not only by them, but by all of us.

With the departure of the Solbergs and the arrival of new children, we are desperately in need of houseparents. We just reopened SFC Hall, a girls’ dorm that has been closed for renovation, in order to receive several more girls. Also, remodeling is continuing in Townhouse boys’ dorm, and we will need houseparents to help us when we reopen that facility in the near future.

The houseparents are the heroes of this institution. There is not another role that is more vital than that of the houseparenting. If you know of somebody that you think would be qualified and would possibly have an interest in applying for this employment position, please have them contact Brad Laughlin, our Executive Assistant and Human Resource Manager: bradlaughlin@tcmm.org / 662.791.7719. Interested individuals can also contact my wife, Erma, who serves as the Executive Director of TCM (residential department): ermajudd@tcmm.org / 662.791.7706.
