After church this morning, we took this month’s A-Team out for Sunday dinner at Margaritas Mexican Grill. What a wonderful time we had with this select group of our residents at Tupelo Children’s Mansion. The A-Team is compiled of the residents who score at least 94 of the possible 100 points available during the month. Though there are several items which the children are graded on, consistency in the following areas are important: completing their chores, being respectful, finishing their homework, getting along well with everyone, and maintaining good behavior in church. Scores are compiled with 45 points from TCA, 45 points from the houseparent and 10 points from church. They can earn 5 extra points for volunteering to help around the residence hall. Once they reach the A-Team they receive a bonus allowance, plus they get to go out for lunch one Sunday after service at a nice restaurant in town. Usually, we get the honor of taking them, and it’s always a blast! We also have a resident-of-the-month that is chosen by the residential staff. This month’s award-winner is Hannah Johnson (pictured with Erma).
