Plant Therapy

A group of ladies from the Tupelo Garden Club is at the Mansion today helping the children plant flowers in several locations around the campus. The children really seem to be enjoying themselves as they learn about gardening. The ladies took the time to make it a meaningful and interactive experience for our residents. We take advantage of every opportunity to teach our children the value of a good work ethic. Throughout the year, but especially during the summer months while they are out of school, the children are given an opportunity to do various jobs around the campus in addition to their regular chores, and they are rewarded for a job well done. Back to the Garden Club...Nancy Brown Milam, Garden Club President, has been coordinating this beautification project, along with several other ladies, including: Lisa Reed, Judy Billups and Beverly Chappell. Nancy shared with me that they are exited about including the Mansion in their budget this year, and hope to continue their invovlement in the future. We are very thankful for the broad support that comes from Tupelo and the surrounding area. The community invovlement is very significant and a tremendous blessing to the Mansion. We are constantly receiving donations and help from various local churches, businesses and civic organizations.
