Spotlight Kid: Scott

April 22nd, 2012

Each month, we spotlight one of our children at Tupelo Children’s Mansion. This month, we have selected a boy by the name of Scott.

Scott is a seven-year-old boy who is enjoying the 2nd grade. His grades average between A’s and C’s and he enjoys art the most because according to him, “I’m good at it and it’s a lot of fun.” He also enjoys science because, “I get to do a lot of experiments.”

Scott’s older brother and sister, Kya and Bryton, also reside at the Mansion. They are a beautiful, close-knit family that is adjusting nicely to TCM life.

Scott enjoys sports, and his favorites include: bike riding, playing on scooters, and skateboarding. His other hobbies consist of playing with Lego’s, marbles, and mini, race cars.

At this time, Scott is learning how to play the drums, and he also likes to tinker with the piano. A large part of the Mansion’s therapy program consists of music and art. It helps the children learn constructive ways to express past hurts and helps to bring healing to their lives.

Scott is a precious, little boy and we are so thrilled to be able to offer him the security of shelter, warmth, and love.

We are thankful for our sponsors and the difference they make in each child’s life!

Sponsors are the lifeblood of Tupelo Children’s Mansion. Without our sponsors, we would not be able to care for the children that God has entrusted to us. Sponsor dollars help provide for the children’s clothing, food, shelter, special educational needs, medical needs, parental support (through our loving residential mentors) and personal care.
